Hi,

Just wondering in the ISP section in the beta version (which I love BTW!!!), I see something new beside the latest visitors info:
"this referral link is an intermediary page on google...."

What exactly does this mean?

I was just going to ask the same question.

Users automatically redirected to my site, that is already puzzling. But even more puzzling, I found this in combination with the information, that my page ranked as #509 for this query. Why would any intermediary page redirect to such a low rank???

It's the "I'm feeling lucky" button for Google searches. The visitor was directed straight to your page, they didn't see the search results.

Sorry CG, but it's not the "lucky" option.

This redirect is a new "feature" implemented by Google. There is more abut this in the forum, in StatCounter Redesign 2011 where this thread also should be, so I move it there. ;)

Since the site owner can't go to the Goggle page from the referral link, the info about where on the search result the link to the page was found is added.
That way we can at least see how high up in the search the keyword is found.

seems a rare case of someone very interested in a query, if this person goes through 500 search result and still opens the one ranking 509....
