I had problems changing one URL to Another... would not work... didn't transfer correctly or something... I don't know... Visits are NOT being collected.
SO... I figured I'd Re-Register with a different User Name
(New=Joe Lyddon, Old=wb6ufx)
I get the email to click to Complete the registration...
Then I get a little window that says:
=======================
Thank you, Joe Lyddon. Your registration is now complete.
You may now proceed to edit your Profile in order to fill in additional personal details about yourself, or you could modify your Options to customize your browsing experience of this site. If you would rather do these things later, you can do so by following the links around the site to your User Control Panel.
Alternatively, you can simply go back to the Forums and start posting in threads.
=======================
When I Click "Profile" or "User Control Panel", I get a message "You are not authorized or qualified to do that.
When I Click "Forums", it works... That's why I am able to Post this message.
I wish I could get something to work... Here or for my Site!
Can anyone HELP me?
Thank you very much,
Joe Lyddon

Are you talking about the forum or you counter account, or both?

That's correct, right to edit (update) will be permitted after you've completed a probationary period of time and constructive posts. Before that you can only edit/change your email and password, and post on the forum.
This restriction is regrettably due to profile spammers who register with the only purpose to get backlinks from the forum.

Are you talking about the forum or you counter account, or both?
I started with one URL on StatCounter, WoodworkStuffByJoe.net and it worked great...
Later, I got another URL, WoodworkStuff.net my original which I thought I had lost and it was Linked to WoodworkStuffByJoe, by Godaddy, and everything worked FINE. I did NOT change my StatCounter in any way... all worked fine.
At that time my User Name was: wb6ufx
It came time to Renew the WoodworkStuffByJoe.net URL... I did NOT want it and decided to let it go.
I thought I had to do something with the StatCounter...
I attempted to Transfer (Replace) the OLD URL with the one I wanted yo keep, WoodworkStuff.net. I did this a few weeks before the ByJoe would drop hoping that everything would continue with no problems.
When the ByJoe registration was finally gone, all visits to WoodworkStuff.net stopped.
That brings us up to the current NOW time...
I am talking about the StatCounter account... I re-Registered using Joe Lyddon for WoodworkStuff.net. I had problems, which I guess I should have, due to a probationary period that I forgot about.
There is no user name "wb6ufx" registered on the forum
I guess your system is smart enough to know that I just changed my User Name... I DO NOT KNOW... I used to be "wb6ufx".

Thank you... guess I forgot... How long is the Probation for?
[B]As far as I know, I have Installed the proper code...
What has to be done to get my StatCounter to start counting??
That is my MAIN Problem.
Thank you very much,

The forum and your Statcounter account are separate and not related, the forum is for support. If you are having problems with one, it's not related to the other.
If you have installed the counter code and it's not working, then read through our FAQ (http://forum.statcounter.com/vb/showthread.php?t=39303) and post back if you are still having trouble.

I have visited your sites pages several times. Check if you have any page loads from me.
I can see that you have a visible counter on the homepage, but no counter at all on any of the other sites on the site.
The counter code should go to every page if you want to track visits to them.
You can make the counter invisible on the other pages, even if you like to have it visible on the homepage.

Hi Arne,
Thank you for the Reply!
Y'know... I never thought much about it... BUT, the Counter DOES increment when other people visit... That should have told me that it's working! (DUH!):)
The problem is when I received the monthly email report that shows all of the activity, all of a sudden, it STOPS being reported on the Report! I should have thought about that... :(
It appears that my website is OK... BUT, something else is stopping it from being recorded for Report purposes. Make sense?
Here is the August report:

I did NOT get a Sept. report in Oct.
How do we get the Report working again?

Very interesting! I never really studied it a lot... I was just after the main Home Page...
Would I put the SAME EXACT code on the other pages?
What would I have to change to make them invisible? (remove coding that controls the display?)
Thank you again for your HELP!
I see a glimmer of hope... I think... :confused::lol:

First off, do you have page loads and visitors reported on the Summary page for the project, e.g. for the last days or weeks? Or check the "Recent Pageload Activity" (left hand menu link) page, to see all page loads currently in the log.
If you do see stats on them, then click on the little wrench icon (Config) above the left hand menu, to the "Installation and Configuration" page.
There, click on "Email Reports" in the menu to see if you have an active or disabled report and details about it, or if you need to add a new report.
Now, if you don't see any hits registered on the Summary or "Recent Pageload Activity" from the recent past, you need to submit a support ticket, to the support desk on Statcounter, and they will deal with your issue as soon as they can.
The same also, if you do seem to have an active email report but have not received any.
The forum is a "members helping members" support forum. We, as voluntary moderators of the forum can't do much on the technical side, if there is an issue with the database.

Yes, exact same code, apart from the var sc_invisible=0; line where you change the "0" (zero) to "1" (one) on the pages you wish to have it invisible.

Arne, Thank you very much! I now understand a little more about being told what I was told... ever so bluntly... BUT, I thought because the Forum was on THEIR site, it was for Support Problems for Their Product, StatCounter... I saw nothing to lead me to believe otherwise.
I'm glad you went Beyond the normal Call of Duty to help me as much as you could.
I'm sorry I expected something that really wasn't meant to be. :( 8)
I hope your instructions will get my problem solved... we shall see...

WOW! I had no idea I could do that... Will have to experiment & see how it works... After I get the main problem fixed...
Thanks again...
You've been a great help!

I've just now updated the registration email to reflect the new policy on editing your profile information...and emphasise the fact that the forum registration is distinct from the main StatCounter account registration. Apologies for any confusion!
Thank you. Your registration at the StatCounter Forum is now complete.
We extend a warm welcome to you and invite you to start posting at your leisure.
Note that you will NOT be able to edit your Profile until a probationary period has passed - this requirement has been applied in order to mitigate the activity of spammers on our forum.
Please further note that registration for this forum is separate to and independent of your StatCounter account - the two are not linked.

How long is this probationary period?

Hi Joe,
The message in italics above is the NEW text that *will* be issued to members from now on (instead of the original message you got which caused confusion). I just posted it so you could see it as an example.
The probationary period on the forum is based on time and on number of posts made... it can change depending on the amount of spam activity we see on the forum.
Yes - Arne is a great guy!

Jen,
Yes, I think that message would help...
How will I know the probationary period has been met?
Will I get an email... or what?
Just curious... I really don't expect to be highly active...
Thanks again,
Joe

Arne,
I hate to ask this... BUT, I cannot find a way to SEE the "Summary Page" or a way to Check for "Recent Pageload Activity"!
Could you please help me again?
I've been a little busy since I was last here...
Thought I'd check things out... can't get to 1st base!
Thank you,
