Cool What blog platform would you use?

If you were to start a blog tomorrow - like a million other people - what would you use?

Self hosted, wordpress installed myself.

Not because that way is any better than any other, it's just it's the only way I have ever done it.

Blogger blog published to my own website by FTP. Easier than futzing around with Wordpress And far less vulnerable to exploits.

I use LifeType, but often wonder why I have a blog. They seem more of a pain that they are worth and often offer noting but advertisements. Plus they have in the past ranked high, but now seem to be being adjusted for by searches. In some ways, they feel like spam. Lots of words that say very little and do less. JMHO, of course.

I've wondered the same FrankV - blogs that are just blogs often turn me away. There are some good ones, of course, but it's hard to find them through all the 'others'.

Having said that - a lot of people have made a lot of money from blogs.

But that's the idea. Well it is if you want to make money. Just make a blog with content that will bring in some visitors then make it so bad they want to leave.

Make sure the only links out of your site make you money when some clicks on them. Then the people who visit your site have to either hit the back button of click an advertisement to leave your site. Half the users on the web don't know where the back button is! Even when they do they don't want to go back, they want to click a link that takes them forward, so make sure every link makes you money.
