I should try harder to not be negative. This is just a negative time in my life. What I am saying is that there are possible and probable problems.
Get a captcha and make it a members only thing. That will help a lot. You will have to monitor the actions of the members for sure. Maybe there are programs that can monitor some things and alert you of possible problems ... like telling you that a certain email scheduled for next month might be spam or something. Then you could stop it before it gets out. I'd suggest that you set up a "blacklist" of some sort for registering members. Like refusing a member with a certain email address or domain. Or forcing them to reply to prove their email address is real. Or both and more. Am I being a security freak? Sorry. It is a cool idea for a reminder service and other positive things. Just be careful!! Some people will abuse anything they can figure out how to abuse. That has been proven as one of the truths of the world. Good luck!

It may not be too bad if it's for members ONLY and the emails get sent out ONLY to their email address they signed up with, after they confirmed it as well by responding to a first email you'd send them to activate their membership. Captcha upon signup.
You'd do well to send yourself a list of the emails to be sent on any given day BEFORE they get sent out, so that you can see if there's any hanky panky going on and can clean it up before it gets out of hand. Be prepared to spend time on managing this thing in case it catches on
