I have had about 70 sites listed as StatCounter projects for awhile and they've always been listed together as one group on my main projects page. Whenever I added a new site it would show up with all the rest on the projects page.
A few weeks ago I added three new sites and instead of being added into my existing group they show up above my other projects at the top of the projects page. I can't figure out why this is and if its because of something I did or just a glitch in the system (this only started after the new mobile stats were added recently). Anyhow, I thought I'd post here to see if anyone else has the same problem and ask if there is a way to fix it. Actually, its not a huge problem but I like to sort my projects and having those three separated at the top is kind of a pain. I assume if I add more sites they'll be separated also. |

It's the relatively new grouping feature. Go here and you can move them around.

One of my sites just got split from the others, no rhyme nor reason?? Not a problem, just curious.

I just noticed the same problem (projects split into two "groups"). I've visited the "Organize Projects" page but I can't make sense of it. The two groups have no labels/names, and the "Move to Group" drop down menu doesn't show any existing names. Actually, the drop down menu is buggy in my browser, Safari. I can just see a sliver of a name, and it appears to be "(no group)". If there are no groups, then why are my projects split into two groups?
This new "Organize" feature appears to be buggy and not fully designed/implemented. StatCounter should fix the menu bug and add labels and instructions so we can understand how to use it. Last edited by syncrasy; 07-04-2012 at 03:17 AM. |

Now you have a named group and can move the next project to that group, or create an other group for it. Yes, the drop down menu is buggy in all browsers, I believe. Hopefully it can be fixed. |

Thanks, Arne. Actually, I didn't have to fix the problem -- I filed a support ticket, and someone else fixed the problem for me. For some reason an unnamed empty group was created without my knowing.
I've done some testing. With no projects in a group, the "Organize Projects" page is very clear. It has clear instructions to "Add selected projects to new Group:" [enter name]. When I create a new group, the group label appears, and now the drop down menu works! Excellent feature, and now it appears to be working well. So I retract my comment about it being not fully designed; it appears to be well designed when working properly. (I hope that the bug that created split unnamed projects for some users was a temporary problem that occurred only during roll out.) |

Yes, I believe there was a bug that separated projects even without any groups, and also messed up the list for groups. It looks like it's fixed, with 3 groups I can even see all without any need to scroll. What you see now is what was the purpose with this requested feature. |
