I installed StatCounter on one of my Wordpress installs (latest version of WP), but decided to remove it, as it wasn't playing nice with some of other plugins I must use.
Deactivated and deleted files through Plugin Admin, the removed the snippet of tracking code. However, "Site Tracker" still appears in the Dashboard left-side menu, and in the Settings section. How can I get rid of these two menu items so that StatCounter is removed from my site entirely? Thanks. gary |

Hi Gary,
Site tracker isn't an entry we generate. By the way, if the plugin isn't working well for you if you wanted you could drop the actual tracking code into a sidebar txt widget, or into the footer.php file. Regards

Thanks, Rory, for your reply.
I see that I made a mistake. The entry in the left-hand admin column under "Dashboard" actually reads "StatCounter Stats". When I click on that item, it open the StatCounter website (with a 404 error). I guess it's trying to access the site stats but can't find them. Is this generated by StatCounter? If so, same applies as my original post; ca'n't seem to find how to remove it from WP Admin. Unfortunately, the widget idea, although good, won't work for me, as I don't want the stats to be public. Too bad: I like the stats that are generated, especially referrers, as I am trying to track inbound links from PDF files. Any ideas? gary |
