I've been using statcounter for awhile and love it. Lately I've had consistent traffic that is coming from washington state. It shows up as a few different cities in Washington, but its consist every day. Is this a software issue? Maybe a search bot? I do use it for a podcast so perhaps its my rss feed trying to update? any thoughts?

![]() The different cities within the state of Washington is also puzzling to me as that make me think that it is localized to perhaps something that you are doing, ie RSS feed/ISP. Dunno, do you live in Washington? Maybe the IP address of this visitor can be looked into a little bit.

I have no idea what the hits are, I was just throwing out ideas. It turns out that one of the hits is 4x a day and is coming out of King County Library system.

It may be a user having your site in one of many browser tabs, which are reloaded when the browser is restarted, without the user actually looking at the pages again. Different cities may not mean a lot, as the geolocation depends very much on how the ISP operates. It could also be someone with your site on a "watchlist" to check for updates. Or a lot of other things, depending on the details.

My son would prank the library computers by setting the home page to some random site. Could be that is what happened for you.
