Default Does domain forwarding affect the referring links info?

One long last question my helpful friends...

My "came from" stats only show my own web address and the "KeyWordAnalysis" shows nothing, I guess because all the visits are logged as referred by my own address.

I think the problem is because my webpage is being hosted by my internet provider and I am using domain forwarding (from a different company) to get my domain pointing to the webpage.

To explain myself better:

My website is hosted at http://webhome.idirect.com/~rrincon/raulrincon
and my domain name is http://www.raulrincon.com

I'm thinking that SC shows all my referrals as coming from www.raulrincon.com because of the domain forwarding that I'm using.

If so, is there a way to make SC look one level before? Is there any way that I can get the valuable information of "came from" and "key word analisys"?

Thank you!

Raul

The only way is to get rid of the domain forwarding.

And search engines will like your website more as well.

Unfortunately no, since internet protocols prevent this. If you use the frames versions, which would be indicated since this type of redirection (stealth) is usually through frames, it will generate an error and not work any better.

If anybody's found another way, I've not heard of it yet.

Hi,

Firstly let me say what a fantastic site with great shots. There is another great photographer who uses Statcounter. Sabrina

As for the question. The real answer is to get a hoster which is not a sub domain so your url will point directly to your site. If you can change your host and point your DNS this is quite simple.

Chrisooc hosts at a very reasonable rate and allows DNS pointing.

My ears are burning again. Pretty soon people will think you're getting kickbacks out of this
