Default Spam/Spy?

I just started to use StatCounter. It reports that 37% of the hits on my web site are from Comcast itself, not from a viewer using Comcast as his ISP. Those hits are from an unspecified country and are reported as "Visit spread over more than one day".

I was wondering whether StatCounter will report hits from a spammer, whether or not those hits result in something being posted on my web site. I have spam blocking code on my site to prevent posts. And my own IP address is set not to be reported by StatCounter.

[paranoia on]
The other possibility I was wondering about is that Comcast (my ISP) is monitoring my web site. Or, that someone masquerading as Comcast is monitoring my site.
[paranoia off]

Has anyone experienced this sort of activity before? Thanks.
