Default user stats and referal sites (like .tk )

hi

I have registred for free www.peterboos.tk
it forwards a free hoster with a much more complex name.
Since i wanted to have an easy to remember website name i needed a .tk
domain. (and all for free as it's my hoby aquarel art site i dont sell art work oon it)

but now the user stats say they came to my site from www.peterboos.tk Technicaly true, however when they came from peterboos.tk i would rather see the site they visited before, did they came from google or something else ??

how to configure this ?

Sites like .tk that use the framed redirect cause this to happen to your stats. Nothing to do to change it unfortunatley apart from getting paid hosting or sticking to the longer url.

Actually it's not the paid vs. unpaid hosting that's the problem, but rather the paid vs. unpaid domain name.

Do yourself a favor and buy a domain. It will cost no more than $8.95/year from many registrars, such as www.godaddy.com.

True Christina, I should have been more specific in what I meant. Thanks for clarifying it

Actually the type of hosting may be a similar problem too, but maybe not in this case.

Default wel think it's solved by a friend of me

wel i didn't now exactly what he did but somewhere where you type your true url of you site he added also the .tk name
So it filters out those redirects it seams to me for the user previous site visit.

Ehm why pay for a non commercial site?
The reason why i have it is just to let others enjoy my work.
If would sell may artwork then i would register something like peterboos.art (yeahhh .art i'll just find a small atoll named
the : Andora Republic Technocratics )

You should actually use the Frames version of the counter. This ought to take care of showing the .tk domain as the referrer.

But if your site is sometimes accessed through the .tk domain and other times through its real, longer url, your stats will get confused. Directly accessing through the longer url requires using the non-frames counter.

I dont think it is possible to configure that because the domain you have got for free is a redirecting url,so you cannot see the referrals on this free domain.Try getting a paid domain or register another free subdomain
