Heres a nice php/mysql script I just picked up. It allows you to run a 'Classifieds' section on your site. I'm in the middle of setting up one now and it's a neat easy little program.

btw I just been messing with it more ..sub-categorys in sub-categories in sub-cat...whoa this thing rocks! Image uploads...very nice...

I'm running it as a 'Free Classifieds' area.

Well pleased with the find. and it's bloody easy to use for a change - it has a shopping cart as well from what I can see but I think I'll try integrate it to my catalog...nice bit of kit

only one problem I can't get hover links to post properly.

if i use
Thats what I get ---hmmm wonder if bbcode will work...runs of to try

edit: Nope wonders what it is....

yeah... I was wondering how to integrate that shopping cart and the advertisement.php file... Oh well... so bad they don't provide support anymore (but I guess when you send your donation you can take the chance to ask them )

By the way, when I unziped the software it created a folder called classifieds_1_3... I was wondering if I rename the folder won't screw the whole thing, I see you could rename it with no problems couldn't you?... I would like to move it right to "mydomain.com/index.php"

You can call the folder anything you want but don't mess with the sub folder names. You can also get rid of the annoying coloured boxes around the catagories and move up the catagories to get a better fit on the page. It is also easy to pump in a bit of Google adsence or something similar. Make sure you set the catogories and sub catagories for info you want to capture in the submit fields as it screws up the results if you don't.

Did this come from http://forum.statcounter.com/phpBB2/...pic.php?t=3018

What is the problem with the hover? The mail cats should have the cat name as the hover. You can change this witha bit of hacking of the code. I haven't looked at the ads part but I would be more tempted to run a seperate one and just PHP include it.

My moded mess about of it is at www.motorwatcher.net/ads It is not linked to my site.

lol no I found it when I was messing about some where else - freescripts or some such...Should have done a search. Yeah the shopping cart looks a bit of a mystery..dunno whats going on there..

but the href is real weird. I should be able to use bbcode or html but niether works...Like say someone puts an add up and wants to link to there site. Folk would rather just click a link than have to copy/paste. I was messing with the template last night - seems interesting to say the least lol

Nice script though... shame there's only an Admin/user level it could do with a sub-Admin level so you can set editors for editing.I'm gonna look at enhancing this I think and maybe upgrade it to xhtml (Heh you know me lol )

Hi Nomad,

Yep html has been disabled. There will be a bit of code in there somewhere but I can't look at the moment.

There is also seems to be another good one here;

http://gonafish.com/lc/freeproducts.php

This site also has a a guest book/conversation script and an add a link script.

Edit

There is a superb one which I have been looking at. Free for non commercial but $149 if you are going to earn off it. It is free and fully functional to download and try and is "the dogs"

http://www.deltascripts.com/phpclassifieds/

Well worth a look.

Do you mean that you can't use HMTL when listing a new add?... Yes you can, you just have to allow HTML when you set the variables in a category, and then the system will ask you to make the field searchable, obligatory, etc... then you just check box "allow HTML" and that's it.

But in my opinion I would prefer not to allow it, otherwise I'll end with a link farm in the long run... but that's just me...
