Checking my stats and see that most visitors to site are there for '0 seconds'. We were featured on PBS TV WQED on Jan 10th and most of the visits on that date were also '0 seconds'. Why would someone watch a TV program about our drug prevention program, then log on to the site and then not spend any time there? I have to think this is incorrect.
Am I mis-interpreting the stat? Also, one viewer timed out at 21 hours plus, which seems like a ridiculously long visit. Any thoughts on this? www.realitytour.org |

A 0 second visit simply means that only one page was loaded and no other page with the same counter on it was linked to from there by a particular visitor. It's impossible to calculate the time spent on a page excpet by taking the difference between the entry time to that page and the entry time to another page.
I'm not sure how the extra long visits come about but it seems to be when the same visitor visits again before 1 full day has gone by, it's combined with the previous visit to make one long visit, while still having the cookie. You can probably identify those pageloads easily.

Thanks for the prompt reply on the 'o pages'. And yes, it would be a good idea to explain that one for newbies.

I thought it was there somewhere, but sort of buried under all the others. Maybe it's in between the lines
