downside of a contact form

It's not unusal for me to get a message through my contact form commenting on the web site. Usually, these are positive. Sometimes they are critical and, in many of those cases, helpful. Then there are ones like this anonymous one, which is pretty useless. I thought I would have a little fun with it and share it with you guys and gals.

comments: You need a lot more practice. Assuming you just recently started the portraits, your artwork shows potential. suggestion convert your photograph into grayscale and compare. It will teach you a lot. Also, don'tbe afraid to take more time and trying carcoal pencils, white chalk pencil, paper blending pencils, and needed rubber earasers. good luck!!

This might have been useful if the writer had given me a link to compare other drawings. It also might have been useful if any of the information was new. Of course, I convert photos to grayscale before using them as models. I don't know what a carcoal pencil is - unless it is made from the coal that was used for steam autos. The blending in my drawings is done with a tortillion - which is the proper name for a paper pencil stub. I don't need any needed earasers (sic), since I use kneaded erasers. Oh well, the person did wish me luck, so I guess they were really trying to be helpful.

I'd almost rather have someone tell me my work sucked and if I worked for another 20 years I might learn how to draw. I should actually be kind of flattered. The person came from a search on dogpile.com and spent more than 30 minutes on the site and took the time to comment on it. That's more than a lot of people do.
