Default looking for a server log analyser (cheap)

Hi Guys

Cheapskate AW here again

Looking for a cheap , preferably FREE server log analyser , any one got any suggestions ?

We had a demo one but the free period expired

I think you can install Webalizer yourself, and it's free as far as I know.

AWSTATS is usually available on most Linux hosting running Apache as well.

Have a look at Version Tracker for Analog - I find it very good.

Thanks for that chris we'l look it up

Were on windows hosting and the host provides a server log folder so we can download them, but were not able to collate the data ( not since the free period of SEO administartor ran out )

Most of the "cheapo" ones seem to have been mentioned above. I use most of them, and I would say that Webalizer is good if you are a big fan of piecharts, bar charts etc, Awstats looks pretty, and is good for analysing downloads of all file types (jpegs, mp3's etc as well as simple page downloads), and I beleieve that it is compatible with Windows server OS as well as Linux / Apache. Analog can be good for a more "raw" (but not as raw as straight logfiles) kind of stats analysis.

I know that you probably hire / have your own server as you offer hosting etc, but quite a few hosts (shared or full servers) offer all or some of these (free/cheap) ones preinstalled as standard nowadays. Just a suggestion.
