Default Sound not playing

Hi I have knocked up a practice page http://www.rainbowhc.org.uk/bananastest.htm#

If anyone could please take a little look and see what is wrong with it.

The rollover of the bananas works really well (although the info isn't true!)

But you should be able to click on the singer and he will sing a little ditty, in the same page without loading a new page.
I couldn't get this to work on any other computer. It works fine on my laptop where I made it and the files were stored.

Eventually it will be made into a real page, with real info and coded properly using CSS etc.... but got to get the sound working first.

Geekgirl,

The singer sang for me in IE but not in Opera, however, in IE, the status bar told me there were errors on the page. I did notice that both the banannas and the singer, when clicked, took me to http://www.rainbowhc.org.uk/bananastest.htm# , which seemed to be the top of the page. That's all I can say.

The singer worked for me in IE as well. Not in mozilla though. It seemed awfully short...

Your Housing Co operative looks like a lot of fun...I kinda envy your involvement.

In some weird way so totally typical of FF it wants a Quicktime plugin to play a wav file! It boggles the mind LOL!

You do have a lot of errors though, and you'd better fix them before anything more precise can be said.

Never heard of the property MASTERSOUND in an embed tag. Not to say it doesn't exit.

Aaarrgghh! The lastest version of Firefox AGAIN does not know about Windows Media Player and wants $#&$#% plugins which it has but doesn't know how to %^#%# install them!

In Opera I hear the sound automatically upload oading the page. In IE I have to click teh singer.

In both FF and Netscape I need plugins. Why, oh, why? I rebuilt my pc, so now all these installations have to be refumbled with

Anyway, you can probably get arunnd this mess by using the object tag rather than the embed tag.

Thanks very much for your feedback. It is so helpful.

This really is the bare bones, eventually it is going to be used for a School pack that I am writing, hence simple things like the banana rollover.

I will open this with dreamweaver and see what I come up with.

Cheers.

Everything worked fine here too on IE. I am reminded of the old song,
"Yes, we have no bananas!"
