Default Referrer information not being tracked

I have a new statcounter project and have placed the statcounter code at the bottom of the page.

It is recording visitors but no referrer information.

This page uses an iframe, but I placed the statcounter in the main index page, not within the iframe.

The site also has many aliases to it and I've placed all of them in the project.

Any ideas why it's not picking up referrer?

Thanks,

Sean

You have some validation errors: http://validator.w3.org/check?verbos...edecorate.com/

The referrers you might get are to your main page only. The individual pages you are showing in iframes won't be tracked unles you use a counter on them too (and it has the be the frames version of the counter there).

The validation errors are not actually errors other than the one script type not set. The rest are all from the url of the included IFRAME and shouldn't be validated as HTML as they are part of the url only. This is a bug in the validator and I've reported it to them.

I'm not interested in tracking any of the iframe pages, just the main page.

I've only put the code on the main index.php page (not in the iframe) and it's showing visitors but not recording any referrers.

I'm seeing lots of hits that have referrers. Look at Recent Pageloads.

But you have fallen into the trap when it comes to Came From. You have a blank line at the end of your list of url's to be considered internal. If you uncheck "show external links only" you will see referrers there too.

Go to your project settings and fix that. There's a sticky at the top of the Help forum talking about this exact mistake people make: http://forum.statcounter.com/vb/showthread.php?t=17559
