Default what IP and host is this ?

Hi Guys
Had a hit into one of our sites from gooooogle , nothing strange about the search criteria, but it logged as this

Host name - local host
IP - 127.0.0.1
ISP - loop back

Any ideas ?

Wierd. Localhost is your own computer (I think).

Attention! When reporting problems with your counter, please tell what
partition yours is on by looking at the code you inserted and you will see:
var sc_partition=xx; in the Javascript portion, where "xx" is the number.

It's from somebody accessing the internet through a proxy server.

Statcounter tries to get one step behind what it finds to be a proxy (to attempt to find the real ip in case an anonymizer proxy is being used), but this is where the local server of a LAN acts as a proxy server too so the Ip behind the apparent one is not useful since it's an internal LAN IP, the apparent one is the actual external IP.

It's a little technical problem Statcounter's IP tracking scripts are facing and which needs to be addressed eventually.
