I've got StatCounter installed on eight sites -- in fact, I like it so well that I even upgraded to a paid subscription.
All of the sites are fine except for one. If I go to the Entry Page or Exit Page reports, this one site shows "object]" as the link. If I click on that link in the report, it tries to take me to "http://my6.statcounter.com/[object]" which is an invalid page. On some of the other reports (Recent Pageload Activity or Visitor Paths) the "object]" link shows up again, this time it is shown in grey as the webpage visited, with the actual page from my website immediately below it shown in green as the referring link. I've tried regenerating the StatCounter code a couple of times and have reinserted it into my html in different spots and still have the same problem. I have no idea what's different about this site as compared with my seven others that all work okay. The counter still seems to work, but this extra link is an annoyance. I didn't see anything like this in the online forum. Any ideas for what I might be doing wrong? Thanks ... Barb |

Did you enable Public stats and do you have a link to that on your website maybe?
Or did you revisit your pages by clikcing on links from your stats?

OK, how's this: you visited somebody's site from a link on your site. That other site uses statcounter too (doesn't eveybody and their granny?
The owner of that other site is looking at his stats, finds a referrer from your site to his site, clicks on the referrer from his own stats thus visiting your site. The hit to your project gets logged with his stats page as referrer - which is why you cannot follow it. You could give us a link to your site which exhibits this phenomenon.

The site is www.mttaboretchison.org and the same thing happens on all the pages because they all use the same template. The statcounter code is at the bottom of the source code. No doubt it's something really dumb that I've done ... so if you see anything amiss, please let me know! -- Barb |

Well, doggone it! I see nothing! Even validation is almost perfect and the 2 little errors are insignificant: http://validator.w3.org/check?verbos...retchison.org/
The only thing is that I cannot find the css file http://www.mttaboretchison.org/mttabor.css - etiher you don't have it or it's somehow protected but causing a 404 when being accessed. Consequently the css validator fails as well. I'd guess you don't actually have a style sheet, so you may want to remove that from the template or else provide a style sheet file even if it's empty. Sorry, Barb, I don't see anything weird on your page. I don't suppose the image preloading can do much damage. You could try to remove that and the associated script and see if it makes any difference.
