Default Happy Dance

Today my site got 1,000 page loads for the first time--and the day's not over yet!! Thanks to everybody here who gave me valuable input--I feel more like a "real" web designer every month!

Default Congratulations!

That's very good, especially for a commercial site.
(We never get the same kinds of numbers that the fun sites get, but that's ok, as long as the hits are targeted to potential buyers).

In spite of the fact that our server was down for 26 hours last week, my hits have jumped this week, too.
Yippee!

Red face

Congratulations 4th Ave.! I'm still trying to break 700 in a day. It definitely isn't going to happen today. I think all my traffic went to your site to buy Easter candy today.

and you have a page rank of 6/10, if you dont mind me asking, did you recently achieve that, and is your recent increased traffic connected to a page rank promotion

Thanks everyone!

Seth, I don't really know what the page rank is, so I can't tell you how the status has changed. I hope 6/10 is a good thing for site traffic. My unique visitors and pageloads and visit length averages have been increasing each month since January 06. Most of the changes I've made have been really basic things--making sure I have H1 tags, good titles, alt and title tags, and good keyword density for keywords I bother to include. I still have a lot of work to do to fix keyword accuracy and all my alt and title tags on all the pages, and I also need to make changes to get cleaner code. I also need to address other issues on my site, including photo editing, bonus content, etc. I am looking to go to css for styling soon--it's just hard to keep up with the business and learn new web design stuff at the same time, so I'm trying to balance both.

It is really nice to pop on to Statcounter and check in to issues everyone else is having, if only to find company of people who are also yanking their hair out. Or happy dancing--depending on the day.
