Hi,
I was just wondering if there is an easy way to disable a buy now button, after an item has been sold. the idea for my site is to sell 1000 links which increase in price by a dollar each time the previous one has been sold. This means that they are all 1-off items, therefore i am a little concerned that if i get too much interest, people will purchase links at the wrong price before i have had a chance to change the bit of code that alters the price of the buy now button, after a link has been purchased. It has been ok up til now but if i get more orders all at once it could cause problems. Any suggestions would be much appreciated?? My site address is: www.startingwithadollar.com Cheers, Jonathan |

Bit different granted to those pixel ones and I like that your using actual site screenshots instead of the websites.
9 links = 25us clever idea really - the last two links sold alone make you $1,999us alone. Personally I think you may run out of steam around the half way mark - I can't see many sites paying more than that unless you can guarantee a reasonable traffic return. Maybe you should consider positioning and offer a secondary bidding system for the best placement areas? Different slant on an idea but still a pyramid type of sales. Also how are you going to entice the buyer at position say 598 to pay $598dollars? and then the next etc etc? Different though by using site screen shots instead... |

The phrase that passes through my mind is "the last will be first".

hi Nomad,
Thanks for your comments. I just wrote a long reply and then got logged out for taking to long so i will do a shorter reoly this time! 1. I think you have mistaken the screenshots to be that actual paid links. This is my fault, it does look confusing. The screenshots are of sites that have published articles about my idea. I think I will remove them as it takes the focus away from the paid links therefore i might get complaints!! 2. I have thought about your example of running out of steam, and how am i going to pursuade number 598 to pay $598 dollars for their link. The justification for this price tag would be that if the link price rises to this level then mr x or company ABC would be virtually guaranteed a large amount of traffic due to the large amount of exposure my site might get from the link price being this high. People buying at $10 would be taking a much bigger risk as there would be no guarantee the idea will take off and gain large amounts of traffic, but to reward this risk, the price is a lot lower, therefore they could potentially be getting a bargain bucket link, that could turn into a very handy little advert if the site does take off. Thanks for your thoughts, i like getting other peoples views, it is very useful feedback! Cheers, Jonathan |
