Default Google Confuses Me

I know nobody understands Google. To me Google is like a woman. One day you think you know what she want, the next day she changes her mind. (You women can probably say the same about us males, though I would disagree, lol).

Just this past week my site's index page was ranked 14 for the keywords "sports investing." I searched the term again last night and I was ranked 4! I was pretty happy because, believe it or not, it is a common keyword in the sports betting community and I used to be ranked #2 a couple years ago. I even saw that I had a visitor come from the search this morning. I checked out the search and now my index page is nowhere to be found. A few of my other pages, including my sales page for my ebook is on the second and fourth page.

I'm feeling like a yo-yo.

Wow, I did a search on Yahoo before I posted this and realized I dropped at Yahoo. Up until now I held the top spot for almost 2 years and now I'm 45. I am still in the top spot on MSN though.

Default almost everyone is confused by Google

Yep - almost everyone is confused by google nowadays . . .

the only thing we can do in the meantime is make sure we don't give her more reasons to "ignore" us. . . like going through broken links, going for better content and keywords, and improving our scripts (and changing them for a good reason) . . .

And we should keep giving MSN and Yahoo better "feed" to chew on . . .

I just redesigned my site, but none of the search engines have yet to crawl and chache the new site. I have a couple months to work on it before football season.

I'm back at 14 on Google and 1 at Yahoo. Not sure what was up yesterday, or the day before, but I'm back to where I was all along - Still Confused!
