Smile Site Comments

I am sure there are many terrific SEO's out there. My business site, www.pamcake.com is two years old and has gone through several iterations of development.

I sure would appreciate feedback on my sites design and ease of use from anyone so inclined to provide it.

Thanks very much in advance.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news

Please run at least your homepage through the validator at http://validator.w3.org and then try to fix as many of the errors as you can.

Hi

You are a health nut, right?

Some of the pages didn't like opening easily. I had to try a couple of times.

There are some general things you do that must make your life very difficult! All letters and numbers in URL's should be lower case. The reason this will be screwing you up is you wouldnt remember which letteres you put in caps and which you didnt.
Examples:
http://www.pamcake.com/Baseballgallery.html
http://www.pamcake.com/basketballgallery.html

How the hell do you find things in directories like: http://www.pamcake.com/albums/album_...498/462945.htm

I think your computer desk is as untidy as mine! isnt it? Thats OK, but for websites you will make more money if your site isn't cluttered, if you take more time to be simple.

Have fun

Mark

Right but then the server has to be set up so it serves index.html when nothing is specified after the domain name.

Index.html is just a convention actually, though an easy to follow and assume one.

HomePage.html looks unprofessional. People who buy things on the net are very wary of being ripped off and if you lose a purchase because someone looks at those sort of things then breaking a convention is viable.... well it is if you want to lose money.

I've looked at several of your pages and I can't view any real source code that I recognize. Is Goliath a wysiwyg? Didn't see Statcounter code on any pages, either. This could very well be that my code knowledge is pretty limited to what I've done on my site, but I'm curious how others are viewing it.

Get some keywords into <h1>....</h1> and <h2>......</h2>.
This will help with search engine rankings more than keywords meta tag

See P.M. as well

There is indeed a statcounter code on this site's main page! I checked earlier this evening. Yep it is there!

Thank you more than I can say for your patience and kindness and reluctance to say "Um, scroll down, loser!" Had myself a major blonde moment there.
