I am told by my client that the total hits for his account are reset once they get to 30,000.
We currently use the free version (log size 100), but I thought this only affected detailed analysis (eg keywords, user data etc), and didn't think it would affect the global stats (eg total hit count). Could anyone shed any light on this? Should this happen, or is there something wrong? Many thanks in advance. |

Nope, they don't get reset automatically at any number. Your client may have mistakenly done the rest himself, in which case the counter's history is lost and nothing can be recovered.
The other thing that can happen is if the counter logs too many hits in a very short time thus exceeding the maximum per period (9000 hits per day has been mentioned as a daily maximum, or 25000 per month, for the free counter), the counter gets suspended. A message would have been issued advising to upgrade. Regardless of type of account, detailed stats are only available for the latest N hits as defined by the log size (100 for free, bigger number for paid up accounts). Summary stats are available for the lifetime of the counter, not affected by log size.
