What would stop someone copying my tracking code and pasting it on their webpages and interefering with my stats?

Nothing. But if you find this has happened you generate a new security code. This will render the 'borrowed' version of your sc code useless.

if somebody is stealing your pages it could be more serious than that, search engines dont like mirror sites and your site could suffer. use copyscape.com to find out who it is and confront them
