My stat info doesn't match

When my summary page initially came up it listed 23 page views with 14 unique visitors.

When I clicked on Recent Visitor Activity it showed 2 unique visitors with only 23 page views for the day??!!

Any suggestions on what is going on? These aren't even close!

FYI - Yesterdays' summary said 4 page views, 2 visitors. The Visitor Activity showed 1 visitor 3 views.

Visitors with cookies disabled are tallied as new unique for every pageload - and thats' what you see in sumamry stats. There is no lookup of rpevious hits, no time to do so, plus they will likely no longer be in the log in any case, if the site is busy.

The detailed stats use the log contents and go by IP address to groups visitors that way for Recen Visitors.
