Default Statcounter Link and Exit Links

Couple of questions.

I have two sites and two different Statcounter projects to track visitors. I've got the original code and the SC4 code installed.

My Statcounter username is paul.anderson

I have no Exit Links recorded by the SC4 code. Have I installed it incorrectly?

The second query is that in the past few days I have noticed a link for the Statcounter website has appeared in the top left-hand corner of both sites.

Is this a new feature Statcounter have introduced, and do we have to have the link as part of our terms of using the Statcounter code? If so, is there any possibility of implementing it in a different way? If I have to have the link, I'd rather it was part of a button or something that I could choose where to place it on my site!

Thanks!

Hello

SC4 is in beta right now. It has been down for a day or so, so you won't see anything as of lately in your stats.

You have placed the Statcounter code in the wrong place on your page.
You have it just after the <body> tag. It should be just before the </body> tag. This could be why you are seeing the counter at the top of the page. If you can place it in the footer, even better.

You can change;
var sc_invisible=0;

to

var sc_invisible=1;

to be completely invisible.

Thanks for that - I don't want to see the counter at all (if I have the choice), so I'll try changing those values.

I thought that the code could be placed anywhere between the two tags, and it didn't matter where so long as it was between them?

I'd noticed that the SC4 counter hasn't recorded much in the past few days, so assumed that there might be something wrong, but I've never been able to see any Exit Links on my projects unfortunately, so not sure what to do about that.

I'll play around with it a bit more, thanks again.

Technically yes, but in practice it works better if the javascript loads after the page content. If their is a delay in establishing a connection to Statcounter's servers, it can delay the loading of your page content, and may show the Statcounter link at the top of the page in the mean time.

SC4 is beta. They are fixing bugs now, the counter hasn't been working for the last day or so.
