I am trying to add a stat counter to this site, but posting it in a journal entry didn't seem to work.

Is there a specific place I need to place the Stat Counter URL on my Livejournal account so that it will work>?

I have no experience with Live journal

In general, you need to place the code in a page element that will be loaded with all pages. If you have access to the html code & pages, then possibly if a footer is used, then place the code just before the </body> tag.

However, if you have to use some type of widget install, this may not allow the code to be installed as it should be, or will corrupt the code in the process. You need to find a means, by using your Admin whatever to place the code where it will work and not be changed the next time you install or update something.
