Cool Stats

Does anyone know if stats counter record a shopping cart purchase?

Hi

Yes it will if the counter code is installed.

If the pages are secure pages (https), then you need an upgraded (not free) account to have the secure counter option. If you don't use the secure counter code your visitors will get a warning when the page loads.

Hi,

Statcounter will record a visit to a shopping cart page, it doesn't actually record the fact that someone bought something. The only way to do that is to place the statcounter code on a page which can only be seen by someone who has successfully completed the checkout process. Usually this would be some sort of "Thanks you" page to which the customer is sent by the checkout verification process frollowing a successful sale. You can also have a "Sorry it failed" page so that you can record failures.

Even this isn't 100% guaranteed, we have sales where the customer completes the sale but doesn't land on our complete page even though all other page loads seem to have shown up. There are many varied reasons for this, suffuce to say it nearly works but it will fail occasionally, only you can decide how much of a problem that will be
