There is a strange thing happening.
Whenever i make some change to my blog(install/uninstall plugin, make changes to some php file),i see some google ad in the exit link activity from my own IP.
I dont click my own ads but statcounter shows it from my IP.

Are you using a browser pre-fetcher? or maybe an anti-virus with link scanner? These would prefetch the pages from all the urls to which you have links on the page you are viewing. Maybe they also go through Adsense links.

Hi i dont use pre browser fetch but i am using AVG which has link scanner.I have disabled it now.
Would it solve the problem ?
One more thing that do those exit links means clicks to google i am afriad that i may not be banned by google adsense.
are you sure of this solution ?

I don't think those count as clicks, if they did Id' have been banned ages ago, as I too am using AVG link scanner.

I'd find it strange though that this would only show when you make changes to your site and not in the normal browsing of it. Unless you are using a web page editor like Dreamweaver and preview locally some pages stored on your own PC - in such cases blocking cookies would not work so activity would be logged.

You may want to add the Adsense domain to your hosts file - this would result in your not even seeing any Adsense ads for any site though.

I'd add this to the hosts file for instance:

Quote:
127.0.0.1 googleads.g.doubleclick.net

I used the search function and found this rather old thread.

I noticed today that one of my projects also shows 3 clicks on google ads from my own IP while I was working on my site yesterday. With this site it has happened before, but strangely enough with none of my other sites.

Is there an easy solution/answer for this?
