How did below or did I copy it and not see it when I copied it to my site?

and can I remove it?

I x'ed out some numbers should they implicate my site.

That is the image tag required for the image loading that is required for the counter to work, you should leave it in there to keep the code valid.

too late I removed it and went to site to see if it was loading images on site and it is.

another question I asked support with a comment. I use microsoft express web and 1and1 as my host.
which guide should I use to install code?

It use to be statcounter would give a code and it would work.

does code now depend on expression web or my host?

forget nearly all of above.

I went back to old version of Statcounter. copied code and placed it into site and then back to new code to test and it works.

But next time, not having to go back to old statcounter what choice of installation guide using microsoft expression web and 1and1?
