Site redesign

Hi, I am re designing my site and am worried about losing traffic to new pages (it's a totally new structure). I paid to upgrade my statcounter so that I would have more logs of what keywords go to what pages etc and plan to download it when I launch so that I can survey the old site's traffic against the new.

I'd like to know how the stats might be useful in others ways for this sort of thing. Has anyone used their stats in a similar way? I will be 301'ing old pages to the new version where possible but am moving the whole site to wordpress and was too complicated to retain URL's etc. I'll have to take the hit on the image traffic I suppose

Any more ways to use the stats to my advantage in this period? Thanks.
