Change to first party cookie

This is not actually a feature request but a request that StatCounter changes the way it works. I realise that this is likley to involve a lot of work.

As far as I can make out, StatCounter uses a single cookie on a user's computer/browser to record visits that the user makes to any/all websites that use StatCounter. By necessity this is therefore a third party cookie with StatCounter's domain.

I would like to see StatCounter change to using a different cookie per website visited and that this is first party with the website's own domain.

This would enable UK owned websites to take advantage of the UK Information Commissioner's Office guidelines on the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations which states that it probably won't prosecute if analytics methods using first party cookies are used without user consent.
