I have to deal with haters on a certain blog who happen to use statcounter as well. One of them is claiming I tried to access her blog *295* times in 6 minutes! I didn't even know she had a blog, I googled her name and found it once, she redirected me or something prior to this...was sharing with a friend and rechecked the address, didn't close the tab on my browser, left on a quick errand, came back and closed the tab. She was kind enough to post screengrabs (while mocking me, nice)...attached here.
Can someone tell me what happened here? Since she has me blocked, did my computer simply keep trying to access the blog on its own? But 295 times?? Really? I just know that *I* didn't waste my time doing that, LOL. ![]() ![]() Thanks for any help. They attack me and my family enough, don't need to let her have extra ammo to attack me with! |

Well, that rate's a hmmmm.....
Does the IP address listed in your posted images "from her" belong to you??? If she has you blocked from her blog, then you shouldn't be able to get to the page to activate her Statcounter Code. Too Many Depends on this, that or the other. Just dunno, but if this was indeed you whom made these attempts, then I'd stop. If it's not you and someone else is using your computer, ISP, or are disguising themselves as you, and If there is some true malicious attempt to hurt you then contact your ISP/Law Enforcement depending upon the scope of what is happening. Past that I'd just leave it all alone and do your best to not give this individual an audience.

Yes, that is my IP showing. Lots of drama here, but the basics.
Someone told me she was posting my personal information (home address, phone number, etc.) on her blog. I didn't have her blog address but I did have her name, so I googled her. Found a blog and clicked on it, wasn't even sure it was her. The page that opened was a basic page that said all posts had been deleted. I screengrabbed and closed the tab on Firefox. Awhile later I realized I hadn't saved the URL, so I redid the google search and went back to the blog again, with the same results. Copied the URL, then got distracted by my toddler needing help in the bathroom. Left my desk for just a bit, then when I came back I realized I'd left the tab open, closed it, and that was the extent of the whole thing. I never tried again and again, 295! times in 6 minutes...no one else was in the house, my kids don't mess with the keyboard, so I really don't know what on earth happened in this case. Since she's claiming to have blocked me, I wondered if maybe my computer was stubborn and kept trying again and again on it's own? Some kind of re-try loop or something? Just weird. |

Forgot to add...those attempts on her screengrab are only one SECOND apart...how could someone try to make an attempt that quickly, then try immediately again?? I know my computer takes more time than that to load up a website, I don't think even just pushing 'enter' again and again would happen that quickly, would it?? Puzzled here!

It's possible there is something attacking her blog not even related to you and she just assumes it's you since there is a battle of sorts going on here. I've ran the IP address and you can see it here at http://www.networksolutions.com/whoi...ip=99.9.12.150
It is possible for an individual to set up something that could hit someones site multiple times in a very short period of time. If it is your IP address then be sure you find a way to stop it as it can fall on you. If it is not you, then let it go and not give the individual an audience. PS, a redirect works different from a "Block", a redirect could allow time for a page visit to log on her stats.

So, looks like it came from your computer unless you are on a local network, sharing a wireless connection maybe with someone who is just involved in this mess as you are now. I'd sure back out of it asap.

Thanks again for responding. I wish I could, this one and her friends have been stalking me for awhile, wish I could just get away from them, but everywhere I go, there they are, publishing my home address, bashing my husband and kids...police are on it, these things just 'take time' they say because multiple states/countries are involved.
I noticed earlier that my 'enter' key and a few others on my keyboard are sticking, my pre-teen spilled a drink on it last week, thought it had dried out pretty good, maybe the enter button got stuck? One of those mysteries I guess I'll probably never know! I appreciate the responses! |
