I'm used to, (& welcome) google bots and yahoo bots, but today I got a facebook visit from facebook?!? Does Mark Zuckerberg need an imagesetter? He can probably afford several billion, maybe he's setting up a moonlighting operation?
Why are facebook sending bots, are they setting up a search engine? |

Hmmm,
I think I heard that they were getting into the search business. Hmm, I'll have to Google that, LOL

Facebook's ads are not yet as good as Amazon's recommendation software. For example, they know I have a master's degree, but they show me ads all the time to get a master's degree in my undergraduate field. I also hope they're not showing me weight-loss ads based on my profile pic! (I never post about or search for information on that topic.)
I understand their ad generation can be separate from their search engine programming, but I'm a bit skeptical about what the quality of the results will be, at least initially. |
