    Hi!

Im trying to understand the metrics Returning Count I can find in the downloaded log.

I was not able to attach, so I included a Drive-link instead.

In Sheet1 you can see all visits.
In Sheet2 I have put all unique IPs and counted number of times they show up in Sheet1. I have also compared this with the metrics "Returning Count" found in column M in Sheet2.

In Sheet2 I have marked a few examples. These are IPs:
    77.218.253.45
    77.218.255.92
    85.229.246.247

For all these the metrics metrics "Returning Count" is way higher than the total number of visits (rows in Sheet1) for this IP. How can this be?

    One more thing.
What needs to happen to make a visit with the same IP count as a returning visitor?

    Thanks!

The returning count is based on cookies, not on IP.

Would it be possible to not only see number if times the cookie have returned but also an identifier to the cookie to be able to see what visits that corresponds to each cookie? For example in the case where a user is changing their IP.

The returning count is based on hits which may not all still be in the log. You can only get detailed information for hits that are still in the log.
